Muttappam

Muttappam (rice dumplings)  is a tasty snack popular in north Malabar. In some regions, it is known as ‘kallappam’ or ‘vellayappam’. This traditional pan-cake-like dish is prepared with rice and coconut as major ingredients. Muttapam is easier to make, and upon completion, gives a soft fluffy texture. It is mostly enjoyed as an evening snack and served along with a curry.
