Kozhikkaal (tapioca fry)

This traditional snack originated at Thallassery in the district of Kannur. Kozhikkal literally means chicken leg, and the snack got its name because it resembles the leg of a chicken. Kozhikkal has a crispier outer covering with a soft interior. The major ingredient is tapioca.
